The central area is Trafalgar Square with the National Gallery roof above it. All the shapes are the roofs of central London which could take photovoltaic panels to generate electricity. This was based on research by the University College of London which included every roof within the M25. It was commissioned by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Kahn in 2021. London could become a very large photovoltaic power station.
