Comparing these two photos it is not difficult to see that long line of transport vehicles in the top photo in traffic jams on motor ways using polluting petrol or diesel, could be replaced by electric trains, making transport on our roads less polluting, more efficient and less stressful for drivers. The goods could then be deposited in hubs outside towns and cities, from where smaller electric vehicles could take them to their destination.
