There were 39 million registered petrol and diesel car owners on the road in the UK in 2021. (DVLA). Each of the 39 chrome painted toilet roll cores represents the exhaust pipe of one million cars pumping out toxic greenhouse gases from their exhausts. Each time one million petrol cars disappears from the UK roads one core will be removed from this piece.

The Golden Toilet Roll Award will go to the owner of the last petrol vehicle in the UK.
