The people playing, having fun or strolling in the park on a sunny day, do not realise that a cloud of air pollution is gradually descending on them from above. This is called a temperature inversion. In 2020 the Environment Protection Agency, USA, acknowledged that the highest proportion of greenhouse gases (28%) are now caused by vehicles.
In 2022 the latest figures produced by the EPA- on air pollution emissions:
28% emisions from vehicles (cars, trucks etc)
25% emissions from electricity production
23% emissions from industry
13% emissions commercial and residential
10% emissions from agriculture
